Ski or tube at Gore Mountain (40 minutes away), or you can enjoy groomed cross country trails at Lapland Lake, also in North Creek (40 minutes away).
Winter Horseback Riding
A scenic ride to Chestertown, NY will bring you both to Gore Mountain and skiing and the Circle B Ranch were you can enjoy a winter sleigh ride or try horseback riding year round.
The Hague Market
In town, you can stop at the Hague Market for a bite to eat or to shop for some fun gifts!
Cross Country Skiing, Tobogganing and Sledding
We offer free cross country skis, snowshoes, toboggans and sleds. Cross-Country Skiing can be done at nearby Rogers Rock State Park. (3 miles from Trout House). In the Town of Ticonderoga there is beautiful park called the bicentennial park. A variety of toboggan hills for all ages. (no lift)
Snowshoeing - Look Out Lake View Hike
Grab a pair of complimentary snowshoes and take off from our property to the Look Out Hike (0.6 miles). Relatively easy hike with a gradual up hill from Hill House Lane at Trout House. The Trail hooks up and around to the left and the last 1/4 mile is an easy walk to the beautiful Look Out Lake View. Expansive Views of Lake George.
The Sentinel Grill, and The Chateau on the Lake
For fine dining, we recommend treating yourself to a night at the Chateau on the Lake in Bolton Landing (25 minutes away). For more casual dining The Sentinel Grille is about 10 minutes away in the town of Ticonderoga & Eddies Restaurant is an Italian restaurant only 5 minutes away with a Prime Rib special on Saturdays!
Polar Plunge and the Lake George Winter Carnival
Every weekend in February Lake George has a Winter Carnival in the village and Hague on Lake George has a very special Winter Weekend February 13th – February 15th, 2015 Snow Queen Pageant, Fireman’s breakfast, Polar Plunge at the Trout House, Chili cook-off, music. Lots of fun all weekend for all ages throughout the Town!
